Our Recap

~ Our week of February 8th ~

This was the first week of back to a "normal" life after working a ton of hours the last two weeks because of snow! It was nice to try and get back to a normal schedule. Whatever that is! But it was a week of catch-up. There were so many things that needed to be done; meetings, Auction stuff, soccer, my PT appointment (very much needed!), Valentine parties at school, and the much hated...LAUNDRY! For those of you who know me well, you know I HATE DOING LAUNDRY! I'd love to pay someone to do it! I hate issues keeping up with it. But I made it through the week and enjoyed a peaceful weekend. The girls had a four day weekend. They were off Friday and Monday so they headed to the farm with my parents! :)
~ Our week of February 15th ~

This week started off with the DAYTON 500!! I enjoyed a day to myself watching the race with some yummy food and a few drinks. Then.....the head cold started! I sick and in bed almost all week. By Wednesday I was at least up and moving around but it was Friday before I was really feeling back to normal. So this week ended up being pretty quite because I didn't feel well. We made it to soccer Wednesday evening but other than that, I stayed in bed a lot. Our weekend was on and off. Nothing exciting but several things going on.
~ This Week ~

It's pretty busy! The calendar is really starting to fill up on a daily basis now. Today, my Aunt and Grace flew in. We surprised the girls when they came. They had no clue she was coming in and were very surprised when they came home from school! I have a ton of stuff going on this week and right now am thinking I need to find some sanity to make it through the week. Courtney's book report is due this week too! She has to dress up like Daniel Boone! Still gotta find a jacket for her to wear. What girl picks Daniel Boone to do a biography on???? Only Courtney! :)

Until next time, Have a Great Week!

Hoosiers.....what???

Taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format:

Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen of it.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?
A. Shut up. Let’s not go there right now!

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely, think carefully before spending your money:

If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.
If you spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
If you purchase a computer it will go to India.
If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala (unless you buy organic).
If you buy a car it will go to Japan.
If you purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan.

And none of it will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America.

You can keep the money in America by spending it at yard sales, going to a baseball game or NASCAR event, or spend it on prostitutes, beer (AB products are the best choice), or tattoos, since those are the only MADE IN AMERICA businesses still left in the US to support.

Thank GOD for all the white trash Hoosiers of America who are proud of the items they support listed above!

Women.....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to.

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
something perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a youth she's content to leave behind....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward toretelling it in her old age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal, that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a feeling of control over her destiny...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job, break up with a lover, and confront a friend without ruining the friendship...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder...
and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
that she can't change the length of her calves, the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
that her childhood may not have been perfect....but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
whom she can trust, whom she can't, and why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table..
or a charming Inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...a month...and a year...

AND REMEMBER:
GOOD FRIENDS ARE LIKE STARS.
YOU DON'T ALWAYS SEE THEM,
BUT YOU ALWAYS KNOW THEY ARE THERE!!!!

Age....

George Carlin's Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids?

If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think infractions.

'How old are you?'

'I'm four and a half!'

You're never thirty-six and a half.

You're four and a half, going on five!

That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back.

You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

'How old are you?'

'I'm going to be 16!'

You could be 13, but hey, you're going to be 16!

And then the greatest day of your life!

You become 21.

Even the words sound like a ceremony.

YOU BECOME 21.

YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30.

Oooohh, what happened there?

Makes you sound like bad milk!

He TURNED 30; we had to throw him out.

There's no fun now, you're just a sour-dumpling.

What's wrong?

What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40.

Whoa!

Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away.

Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.
But! wait!!!

You MAKE it to 60.

You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and -

YOU MAKE IT to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70!

After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle;

you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime.

And it doesn't end there.

Into the 90s, you start going backwards;

"I Was JUST 92."

Then a strange thing happens.

If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again.

"I'm 100 and a half!"

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

NOW - HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down!

3. Keep learning! Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever, even ham radio. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Al Zheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. (or pee in your pants)

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The Lord is with us but remember the only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive!

7. Surround yourself with what you LOVE , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge!

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, - get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips!! Take a trip to the mall, to the next county; to a foreign country - but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them - at every opportunity! AND ALWAYS !

REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!

1st Tooth

Kayla has lost her 1st Tooth!

She was so excited about this! We were all eating dinner, chicken, and she's eating away when all of a sudden we hear, "UH! UH! UH!" With this I look over at her and she is sitting there with a funny look on her face and holding her hand out. I look down at her hand and she's holding her tooth!!! I remember yelling "OMG! Dave! She lost her tooth!!!"

After all the excited and several phone calls, it was finally time to head to bed! She couldn't wait to go to sleep and wait up in the morning to see what the tooth fairy was going to leave for her.

HaPpY bIrThDaY kAyLa!!

It can't believe my baby turned 6!! I'm so sad! She's growning up way too fast! (So is Courtney!) It's so hard to believe, it's like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital.

She got an unexpected present this year......a SNOW DAY on her BIRTHDAY! So she got to spend the day at home playing in the snow. She actually got to spend it with Great Aunt Lisa since I was still working and Dave had to work too. After Courtney's soccer game that evening, we enjoyed a yummy dinner at Culver's with MaMa and PaPa, Uncle Bobby, Uncle Scotty, and Ashley. And then had a delicious Oreo Cake at home!

On Saturday January 31st, we had invited all the girls from her class to her friends birthday party at Baked Goods Pottery. It was a great party!! The kids were all so good and had so much fun! It was such a low stress level party. I loved it!! And would highly recommend going there. After her party, we were off to Celebraity Car Wash to take her picture in front of the Happy Birthday sign.

Our next stop was Walter Knoll so the girls could make their flower arrangements! Had to have them for the family party that evening! Family and friends came over to celebrate with dinner and cake and ice cream. We had a delicious dinner which was cooked by Chef Mike at the girls school. I knew with all the snow and working that I would not have time to shop and cook. Come Saturday, I was so happy I called Mike! The food was delicious and it was nice to have everything ready for us.

Here's some pictures from Kayla's big party day.....

Happy 6th Birthday Princess!

All her friends singing Happy Birthday!

Kayla & her Birthday Cake!
(can't wait until she gets over the cheeseball smile stage!)

Singing Happy Birthday one more time!

~~ We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that she is someone today. Teach her to love and learn. She will find their way in this big world as long as she has love and her family. ~~

Happy 6th Birthday Princess! We love you!

Here we go.....

Well, even though I have a ton of other things I should be doing right now, I've decided to take some time out for some blogging! I just can't motivate myself anymore right now. :) Anyway, let's re-cap for a few minutes.....

~ Our week of January 26th ~
Total CRAZINESS pretty much sums it up. Monday started with a snow storm rolling in so it was off to work for me. I was excited, we haven't had any weather since before Christmas so I had the "itch" to work a snow storm. And boy did the itch get scratched! What a week it was. I didn't come home until Wednesday and that was because I made myself come home for Kayla's birthday. (A special birthday posting coming later) Courtney had a soccer game Wednesday evening which I did make it to, VERY tired but I was there. Thursday and Friday was spent back out at the office working on paper work. Once Friday rolled around I was excited and looking forward to Kayla's bday parties but stressing if we'd have everything ready. Saturday morning we had her friends party and the family party was that evening. Both parties went great and we had lots of fun!! Not much else to report from this week because I wasn't home much but the girls had a blast playing in the snow and enjoyed 2 days off school!
~ Our week of February 2nd ~
This week started off with Super Bowl! Needless to say, I was not in the mood to party. I needed sleep! So we stayed home and enjoyed the game. It was nice to spend some quite time at home. Monday came and it was back to working. I was back out at the office Monday - Thursday wrapping up paper work and getting checks done. What a relief it was once that was all done. But now I'm wishing for another storm......and I haven't even caught up on sleep yet!!! What is wrong with me!?! ;) Anyway, the week was pretty uneventful, my birthday was Wednesday and the girls gave me a new iPod! Which I love....it's a shuffle so it's easy for me to use. The other ones are just too much for me. I like turning the shuffle on and getting a mix of songs! Once Friday finally arrived, Dave and I spent the day together since he was off running around doing errands that needed to be done. That evening we took the girls out to dinner and did some birthday shopping! Our weekend was pretty busy also but not too bad!
~ This Week ~
Here we are already into the second week of February. This week is going to be spent playing catch up. I have a ton of laundry to do along with Boutique stuff, Auction work for school, and a few other things. Nothing too exciting going on this week. I'm hoping to get back into a regular blogging routine!
Until next time, Have a Great Week!

Lost?

No! I'm not lost! I'm finally taking a few minutes to update a posting. I haven't forgot and yes, everyone is fine around here. I have been working crazy long hours for over a week now with the snow storm we had last week. I just haven't had the time to update. When I do come home, it's hurry and get some things done either for the girls, laundry, or try to get some sleep! This storm is really kicking my butt! It's been a long one but as I continue to clock the hours and when I get really tried, I remind myself....it's all about the money right now! It doesn't snow every week! :) So once things settle down and the checks have been mailed, I will sit down and update the last couple of weeks! I have pictures from Kayla's birthday which by the way, I can't believe she turned 6!!!! I makes me so sad!!!! :( But until the big update comes with pictures, have a good week and stay warm!
