Our Recap

Our week of Recovering ~ May 11th - May 16th
My week to recover from all the craziness that had been going on wasn't much of a week to recover after all! But that's ok because being busy is better than sitting around doing nothing! :) I must say though, the week was less busy which was nice. We didn't have too much doing on at specific times so I was able to catch up on a lot of things! Our weekend was much busier with softball games, my brother Scotty's Graduation from Rankin and a Luncheon on Sunday.

Let the Countdown begin ~ May 18th - May 23rd
The countdown was started for the last day of school! We were all very ready for a nice summer break!! This week was busy, we had softball practice, meetings, Kayla's Kindergarten Graduation, and a field trip to grants farm with Courtney's class. Our weekend came and much to the girls surprise they got to make a trip to the Farm with MaMa and PaPa. Dave and I stayed home as he had to work and I had to take my grandma to the airport on Saturday. She was off to Dallas to spend a week with my Aunt. So we enjoyed a quite weekend at home catching up on a lot of stuff. Kayla's graduation was on Thursday. It was really cute and very sad. Our little princess is growing up so fast and learning so much. It's hard to believe she is going to be in 1st grade!! :( I'll have some pics to post later.

The last week of school!! ~ May 24th - 30th
This week is one of those bittersweet weeks. I am so excited for summer vacation to be here!! The break from the alarm clock going off at 6:30am is very welcomed! But it's also a little sad knowing a great school year is coming to a close and come August the girls will be "moving" up. We successfully made it through the school year of the much dreaded monthly book reports for Courtney. I must say, as nervous as I was about those based on what I heard from families last year, it was not that bad. Don't get me wrong, there were months where I thought there was no way we were going to find the time to do them. But we got them all done and on time!!! They were not as bad as I thought they were going to be. Courtney has learned so much this year and has a new love for history and President trivia. It's amazing to hear her quiz us and make the whole family feel very dumb!! :)

On top of this being the last week of school which is very full.......Dave and I also celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on Monday! I can't believe how fast time is going by. It feels like just yesterday we were planning everything.

Now here we are in the last day and a half of school and while I'm looking forward to the break, we are also looking forward to the new adventures ahead next school year!! ~~ Our weekend....don't even get me started!! It's a crazy one and I don't see much relaxing time available. But next week.....sleeping in will be awesome!!!!

Until next time, have a great day!!

What's better than a flu shot?

Better than a Flu Shot!

The church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea. As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, The young minister

Noticed a cute glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist.

'Miss Beatrice', he said, 'I wonder if you would tell me about this?' Pointing to the bowl. 'Oh, yes,' she replied, 'Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu All winter.'

Is this all it takes?

A Woman's Flaw.....the one and only!

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution..

They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what
makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
family and friends.

Women have vital things to say
and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

On the Hunt.....

So, I'm on the hunt. I'm looking for a part time job and have been looking for several weeks with no luck! If anyone out there knows of anything, please let me know! Ideally I'm looking for something during the hours that the girls are in school and/or from home. But I'm open to looking at anything at this point. I have a background working in insurance, photography, and design. But I am not limiting myself to just those areas.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!!

Finally!!!

WOW! I can't believe how long it has been since my last post! Time sure flies by! We weeks have been so crazy that once the evening time rolls around and the girls are in bed, I am ready to crash!! So, let's get right to it. Time to recap!

The week of April 18th -- Going back a ways......
This was the week of the school Auction. It was a full week with lots going on but we made it and had a great time at the Auction. Our weekend was really busy, of course and there was some recovery time in there for a long week.

The last week of April --
Now with the Auction over with, it was onto the planning of the Church and School Picnic. I was in charge of the planning along with another mom. The picnic was May 9th and even though a lot of the planning was already done, we had a lot to do with finalizing everything. So this week was full of picnic stuff, softball practices, meetings, and then we were into the first of May!! Our weekend was over booked but so is every weekend between now and July.

Onto the first week of May --
The picnic was upon us and after a little stress about the weather everything fell into place. But this week was also full of lots of other things. The typical stuff, practice, games, meetings, and lots of other things. Our weekend was exhausting!! Saturday was taken up by the picnic and Sunday was suppose to be a day to recover. For the most part I enjoyed a quite day of relaxing.

Now here we are into the week of May 10th --
Hard to believe May is almost half way over. This week is going to be a week of recovering, re-grouping, and accomplishing things that have been put off for the last couple of weeks. And yes, I will stay on a more regular blogging schedule!!

Until next time, have a great week!!
